Zacatecas
is currently accepting submissions for our Fall/Winter 2003 edition. We're
particularly interested in short fiction and poetry, although we do
publish audio/visual works as well.
Our
staff is looking for polished, powerful work with a contemporary feel.
Some of our favorite authors are Terrence Winch, Charlie Mehrhoff, Lorrie
Moore,
and Miriam
Sagan, but we also have a soft spot for less-living writers like Jack Kerouac,
Christopher Isherwood, and Kenji Miyazawa. Above all we're looking for
work that's well-written and genuine.
Fiction
or poetry should be sent in the body of an e-mail along with a short (approx.
40 words) bio. Send no more than one story or 3-5 poems at a time. For audio
or visual works, send a web address where the work can be viewed or downloaded.
Send submissions to the address below:
Zacatecas
acquires first time publication rights online and the right to maintain
the work in our archives (online and in CD-ROM format). After publication,
rights revert back to the author. We are currently unable
to pay, but do offer authors a CD-ROM of the issue in which their works appear.
